Week 01-25 - Curiosities

Abiquiu Formation, NM

Greetings from the Mesa

Finally back into the groove of the blog thang after taking a bit of an unexpected break the second half of 2024. I don't have any overarching goals for 2025 - let's see what kind of ride it takes us on for the first 6 months or so... I do have a couple areas of focus, namely getting stronger physically after a very sedentary 2024 and reigniting creatively. We've started mini-adventuring on a weekly basis, to take photos, to get outside, to stimulate the senses with "new". Where 2024 was stagnant, 2025 will be filled with more movement - I hope!

Curiosities of the Week

  1. Austin Kleon's Logbook. I realize I've been doing something similar for a couple years now in my wallet notebook.
  2. Making Art During Fascism by Beth Pickens. Grab yourself a copy.
  3. Los Angeles Against the Mountains by John McPhee.
  4. Abiquiu Formation
  5. Internet Archive's Zine Collection

Consuming

Books: Currently reading: The Sisterhood: The Secret History of Women at the CIA and Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

TV/Movies: Really enjoyed binging Black Doves. Just about to finish 100 Years of Solitude - masterful. Watching Silo Season 1 on the bike trainer, since i've read the books it's something I can watch without 100% focus.

Music: I haven't listened to it yet but have the new Cure album in my queue.

Thinking about:

Felons as president

Thanks for reading, see you next week!
